Shakuntala Pawar on her early fifties was born to parents with Leprosy. She has vision only in her Right Eye. Married to Vasant Pawar a person with Leprosy, Shakuntala had to struggle all her life for finding an identity in a society which still holds on to the stigma attached to Leprosy. She took up a job in the Abhinav Gyan Mandir School in Datta Nagar Trombay as a helper in the Pre - School section. Since her husband had Leprosy, they decided to open a small shop selling items of every day use. Shakuntala assists her husband in the shop before and after her school hours. They have one son Kuldeep who is a temporary worker in BARC.
Recently with financial support from AMMADA TRUST of Rs. 4500.00 Shakuntala was able to increase her purchase in the shop and was able to stock more items and increase her sales. She now desires to buy a bigger Refrigerator and would consider a loan from her BACHAT GHAT in the near future. |

A member of the ROSHNI BACHAT GHAT , Satyabhama is a mother of a young girl Asha with Intellectual Impairment. Asha is a student of Sulabha Special School in Tilak Nagar, Chembur. Satyabhama receive an assistance form AMMADA TRUST for Rs. 4760/- to stock items for umbrella repair and footwear in her shop in Pestom Sagar Chembur.
Satyabhama and her husband Asaram Shinde sit in their shop from morning till evening mending umbrellas and shoes. The financial support has helped Satybhama to stock good amount of footwear for the rains and also items for
umbrella repair
